Summer Hols!

29th Jun 2017

It is that time of year when the children break up from school for a whole good six weeks! And many parents are stuck for ideas to keep their little ones occupied with activities. We have come up with some ideas that may well help you plan your days.

Why not stay at the Leapark Hotel where you can take the whole family out to visit the Kelpies at the helix park.  With thanks to the Falkirk Council and first buses, they have made it easier to commute to the Helix Park. All you have to do is hop on the bus that will pick you up directly at the foot of Leapark hotel and drop you off at the Helix Park. If you have more time we would also recommend the Falkirk Wheel. This stunning attraction will leave you mesmerised and intrigued.

If you are looking for a getaway for a couple of nights but is not too far to travel to then we would recommend our sister hotels in Dunoon.  Both the Esplanade and the Argyll hotel are situated 1 hour away from Glasgow.  This consists of a 20 minute drive to Gourock and then a 20 minute ferry crossing to Dunoon.  The Esplanade Hotel is ideal for those who just want to relax and not do anything but just sit back and look out over into to the sea. The hotel is situated on the West bay promenade right on the sea front with the beach at your footstep. Check out our special offers for the Esplanade Hotel.

For those looking for a scenic and adventurous weekend break away we would highly recommend our sister hotel in Fort William and Oban. If you like scenic long drives through the mountains and watching the water falls running down the mountains then Oban and Fort William is the place to visit. Our Imperial hotel is situated in Fort William only a 10 minute drive from the famous Ben Nevis Mountain. As we all know Ben Nevis is popular with hill walkers and mountain climbers from all over the world, you could take a day out and climb the mountain and be back in time for a celebration dinner at the Imperial Hotel and relax those sore legs and feet in our Jacuzzi hot tubs in our bedrooms.  There also are the Gondola carts at the Nevis range centre that takes you up the mountain where you can have coffee/tea or a light snack and take pictures of the Ben Nevis Mountain.

Oban the gate way to the highlands and Islands only 45 minutes away from Fort William, boasts lovely views of the Sea and the famous Caledonian Macbrayne Ferry’s crossing over to the Isle of Mull and the other isle’s. The Columba hotel is situates right at the Pier with lovely views of the sea. This hotel is based right in the heart of Oban town centre with lots to do and see for the whole family. If you want to escape for a cheeky wee dram then do not forget to visit the Oban whisky distillery.
